I'm testing out RDM as a possible solution to our connection management issue. We currently use some alternatives for terminal emulation (RoyalTS, Reflections, etc) which also support macros. The macros in RDM are very slow. Is there a setting or something I can change? Macros seem to input into the terminal about as fast as I could actually type them, which for longer macros is way too slow to be that useful.
I'm wondering if this could partially be with which terminal I'm using? Unfortunately, I can't seem to comprehend all the settings for terminal options. For example:
In File -> Options -> Types - SSH/Telnet: I can select Putty, Plink, or Kitty. Is one of those the default used by RDM? What do those settings affect? What does the embedded putty delay do as well as the "Use old putty integration method"
When I create a new session, I can select the "Telnet, SSH, RAW, rLogin" field, which gives me the drop down options of "
Putty, Telnet, SSH Shell, SSH". How do those settings affect the settings in the options field? What software is used for the default SSH Shell option? I saw a few posts that seem to point to Rebex which is what RoyalTS uses. The macros in RoyalTS work instantly regardless of length.
I appreciate any help you can provide.
